Judges Unveil Winning Wines For The 22nd Annual Sandestin Wine Festival at Baytowne Wharf
Destin, Fla. March 27, 2008–The winning wines to be showcased at the 22nd annual Sandestin Wine Festival at Baytowne Wharf, April 10–13, have been unveiled. Judges for the competition raised their glasses high to reds, whites, champagnes, sparkling and dessert wines for “Best of Show” designations. “Best Buy” distinctions as well as gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded in select categories.
Best of Show winners include:
- Leal Threesome 2004 – Best of Show Red, Gold Medal and Best Buy
- DuBoeuf Pouilly-Fuisse 2006 – Best of Show White, Gold Medal and Best Buy.
- Louis Roederer Brut Premier NV – Best of Show Champagne and Sparkling, Gold Medal and Best Buy.
- Mission Hill Icewine Reserve 2004 – Best of Show Dessert and Gold Medal.
Festival attendees will have a chance to taste the crème de la crème of wines along with more than 600 domestic and international other fine wines at the festival. Wines by the bottle and case will be available for purchase at special-event pricing in the Retail Wine Tent.
In addition, several wine celebrities will be onsite to speak with wine enthusiasts such as Frank Leal, owner of Leal Vineyards; Laurent Drouhin, Drouhin ambassador to the U.S. and Caribbean, Dreyfus Ashby & Company; Marc Perrin, co-owner of Chateau de Beaucastel; and Dan Philips, wine expert and founder of the “Grateful Palate.”
