Fri., Apr. 11 - Winemakers & Shakers: 4-6 p.m. at Wine World-Destin

Enjoy samplings of some of the best wines in the industry and meet representatives from various wineries featured throughout the festival. Winemakers and Shakers will be available to share expertise at this pre-dinner wine tasting at Wine World-Destin. Gourmet cheeses and meats will be provided. Pouring of more than 600 domestic and international wines makes for a grand event indeed. Representatives from more than 80 vineyards from across the globe will be available to entertain questions, offering a rare opportunity to learn about the finest appellations from all major producing countries in all varieties, styles and price ranges. Must be at least 21 years of age to taste wines. Sat., Apr. 12 - Destin Charity Wine Auction, “Walkabout and Auction:”
5 p.m. – midnight at Grand Sandestin

This annual event features award-winning wines from internationally acclaimed vintners paired with fine cuisine for a sit-down dinner. The evening begins with a walk-about champagne reception accompanied with live music. Later, take part in a silent auction and live auction. Auction items include rare and distinctive wines, themed getaways and other unique, one-of-a-kind items. Delight in a six-course "brunch" menu paired with sparkling wines, including Spanish Cavas, Italian Prosecos, New World sparkling wines and French champagnes. Vicki McCain, director of the Kitchenique Cooking School, prepares the fare before tasters’ eyes as guest speakers from Southern Wine and Spirits, Transatlantic Wines, Opici Wines and Premier Beverage offer expert commentary on each wine as it is served. Along with recipes, attendees will receive tasting notes on the wines and a commemorative Tritan Champagne Stem provided by Schott Zweisel. Seating is limited to 22 guests.
