Sarah Turner Selected as Winner of the
22nd Annual Sandestin Wine Festival at Baytowne Wharf Art Contest

Destin, Fla. – October 3, 2007 – Sarah Turner has been selected as the winner of the 22nd Annual Sandestin Wine Festival at Baytowne Wharf art competition. As the winner, she will receive a $5,000 award and her design will be featured in all festival marketing materials including advertisements, brochures, T-shirts and posters. She will also have a booth to display and sell her work during the Grand Wine Tastings on April 12 & 13, 2008.

Turner graduated with a Bachelor of Science in art education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in visual communication from Auburn University and has been an art director for E.W. Bullock Associates for nearly 24 years. She has won numerous awards for graphics and photography, including two gold International Festival and Events Association (IFEA) awards, a first-place award from the Florida Festival and Events Association (FFEA), and a silver Addy, a prestigious national award for outstanding work in the advertising field. However, this is the first time she has won recognition for a painting.

A life-long artist and art lover, Turner enjoys photography, painting and pastels, and favors impressionism and the work of Cezzanne, Gauguin, Bonnard and Manet. In her free time, Turner prefers painting still life subjects such as bottles and vases with flowers, and enjoys going outdoors to paint nature "en plein aire".

"I paint for the love of it. It's always a struggle, but a fun struggle. I think, like my paintings, my ability will always be a 'work in progress'", said Turner of her passion for the craft.

The Sandestin Wine Festival at Baytowne Wharf features four days of unique events from private dinners and rare wine auctions to wine tastings showcasing more than 600 domestic and international wines. Wine novices learn more about wines and may sample from a selection of all varieties from across the globe. Wine aficionados enjoy meeting winemakers and finding hard-to-get selections.
